We have set ourselves the goal of ensuring that all major LAPP product groups have an associated carbon footprint. We are also exploring the acquisition of copper with lower CO₂ values.
One way we’re reducing our CO₂ footprint is through the use of bio-based plastics. ETHERLINE® FD P Cat.5e for Industrial Ethernet, for example, is the first Ethernet cable with a bio-based jacket. According to a life cycle assessment, this product, whose outer jacket is made from renewable raw materials, reduces its CO₂ footprint by approximately 24% compared to a conventional jacket made from fossil-based materials.
